Terms of Use

These terms cover use of this website and its guides. Work for clients is governed by a written quote or plan document, which these terms do not replace.

Using this website

You are welcome to read, share and link to the pages on this site. Please do not copy whole guides onto another website or present them as your own. Short quotes with a link back are fine.

Do not try to break, overload or test the security of this website or its contact form. If you believe you have found a security weakness, tell us at hello@wprestorix.online and we will look into it.

About the guides

The guides are general information about WordPress security and related Australian rules. They are researched carefully and link to their sources, but they are not legal, financial or professional advice for your situation. Rules change, and how they apply depends on your business. For decisions about privacy law, data breach notification or reporting duties, check the regulator's current guidance or get advice.

Following a guide does not create a client relationship with us. Changes you make to your own website are your responsibility, so take a full backup before you start.

Quotes and services

Paid work starts only after you approve a written quote or plan document. That document sets out the scope, price, timeframe, what you need to provide, and any follow-up included. If anything on this website seems to conflict with your quote, the quote applies.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, services must be provided with acceptable care and skill, must be fit for any purpose you stated, and must be supplied within a reasonable time if no time frame was agreed. Those guarantees cannot be taken away by anything a business says or does [1]. Nothing in these terms or in our quotes is meant to limit them.

What we do not promise

We do not promise that a website will never be attacked again, that Google or any other company will remove a warning within a particular time, or a particular search ranking or speed score. These outcomes depend on factors outside our control. We describe what we will do, and we do it with care.

Access to your systems

When you give us access to your website or hosting, you confirm you have the right to do so. We use access only for the agreed work and ask you to remove it when the work ends. Please do not send passwords by email; create accounts for us and share them another way.

Responsibility for this website

We work to keep the information on this site accurate and the site available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or online. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss caused by relying on general information on this website without seeking advice for your situation. This does not affect any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Guides link out to regulators, government agencies and other publishers, which lets you verify what we say. Those outside pages are run by others, and linking to one does not mean we endorse it or answer for what it says.
