Purpose
The guides on Wprestorix exist to help small business owners look after WordPress sites safely, whether or not they ever hire us. They are edited by Noah Peterson, a pen name used by the site's editor.
Sources and labels
Every factual, legal or numerical claim is linked to a source, and each source is labelled in the list at the bottom of the page:
- Primary source: an official publication, such as a regulator, a government agency, the WordPress project's own documentation, or Google's help pages about its own products.
- Secondary source: a summary by someone else, such as a law firm article explaining a new rule. We use these when they add useful detail, and we say so.
- Commercial publisher: a business that publishes prices or advice and may sell related services. We use these mainly for market price ranges and treat them as indications, not benchmarks.
We quote figures in the source's own terms. If a source says "a few days to a few weeks", we do not round it into something more definite.
How we write
- Guides answer their question near the top, then explain the detail.
- Writing is in Australian English and aims to be clear to someone who is not a developer.
- Advice stays defensive: how to recognise, contain, clean up and prevent problems. We do not publish instructions that could help someone attack a website.
- Nothing is presented as legal advice. Where a topic involves privacy law or reporting duties, we point to the regulator.
What we will not claim
We do not publish testimonials, ratings, client logos, case studies or statistics about our own work that we cannot support. The recovery workflows on this site are illustrations built on fictional businesses, and they are labelled as such. We do not promise outcomes that depend on others, such as Google review times, search rankings or the absence of future attacks.
Commercial interests
This site is run by someone with a commercial stake in web design work, and it sells services. Guides mention our services only where they are relevant, and the information in them should be useful even if you choose another provider or do the work yourself.
Updates and corrections
We review guides when the rules or sources they rely on change. If you find an error, email hello@wprestorix.online with the page and the issue. Confirmed corrections are made promptly and the updated date on the page changes to match.
